PORTFOLIO

Casey Gallagher lives in Austin with her three daughters and many pets. She graduated from UT Austin with a BFA in Art History, followed many years later with a Masters in Historic Preservation from the School of Architecture. After a career that meandered through non-profit arts administration, art teaching, historic preservation and architectural conservation, she finally sat down one day and returned to art. 

 

Always drawn to creative projects and quirky things, her path to painting started with sculpture at the age of nine when she created small clay dinosaurs to sell at her elementary school’s buy and sell day. She proudly sold out of inventory by the time the third graders came to shop. She followed that successful endeavor a few years later by sculpting folk art Santas, then cowboys.  During Covid she took an online acrylic painting class that sparked her interest in trying a new medium.

She enjoys spending days in her sunny home studio, listening to music and trying to capture the personalities of her favorite animals.
